How to Wear Sarongs and Pareos

There are many different ways to wear a sarong. They are commonly   wrapped around the waist and worn as skirts. For a more elegant look, it   may be wrapped just under the shoulders to create a full length dress.   Place the loose ends where you want the knot to be and tie it. For a   wedding, choose a more elegant pattern. For a beach wrap pick something   fun or that matches your swimsuit. The men’s sarong is the same as the   women’s. When you aren’t wearing them, use them at home as window   coverings, tablecloths or a wall hanging to brighten your room.

There is no right or wrong way to tie a sarong, that’s what makes them   so versatile and fun to wear!  If you are wearing it, you did it right.    Here are some simple ways to wear a sarong, and we challenge you to get   creative as you discover other ways to wrap yourself in tropical beauty.

Simply Wrapped:  Sarong Dress or Bikini Cover
Holding the sarong stretched horizontally across your back, take the top   two ends and bring them to the front, over your chest.  Wrap the ends around each other in a half knot, pulling tight until your   sarong is snug against your body.  Tie another half-knot to secure.  You can wear the sarong with the knot in the middle or off to the side.

Simply Wrapped:  Sarong Skirt or Men’s Sarong
Follow the same steps as the Sarong Dress above, tying the ends at your   waist or hips instead of at your chest.  For a shorter skirt, fold a full-size sarong in half lengthwise before   tying it, or choose one of our half sarongs.

Front Twist Halter Style
Holding the sarong stretched horizontally across your back, take the top   two ends and bring them to the front, over your chest.  Twist the ends around each other once, pulling them snugly across your   front, then tie them together at the back of your neck.

Halter Style Without the Twist
For a looser, draped effect, hold the sarong stretched horizontally   across your back. Bring the top two ends to the front, crossing one end   over the other and then tying them at the back of your neck.
